Pallet Recycling
Kirk Wood Products employs a robust reprocessing system to ensure no material used during the construction of a pallet is wasted; including recycling old pallets that are damaged and no longer able to be used. We first run damaged pallets through a machine that dismantles each unit, cutting nails flush so that all boards and stringers are free of sharp metal. Depending on the condition of the boards, wood may be cut into smaller sizes—all of which is then used to build new pallets out of reprocessed material.
Any material that is too badly damaged or simply unusable will be sent to the grinder and ran through another process to produce wood shavings for animal bedding, while metal scrap is sent to local metal recyclers. The entire operation is designed to maximize the uses of existing material and cut down on environmental impact, eliminating 100% of the waste wood fiber sent to area landfills.
Scrap Pallet Pickup
If your business has excess pallets that are damaged and not suitable for use, depending on the number of pallets, we offer a scrap pallet pickup service. Once hauled away from your site, the pallets will then either be recycled or re-manufactured.
Typical turnaround times for a pallet pickup is less than a week.
